Process Improvement Consultant (Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt)

DSSP Consulting is looking to hire an energetic, forward-thinking Process Improvement Consultant (Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt) professional to support the Architect of the Capitol to enhance operational efficiency and integrate lean practices within the organization!

Location: Hybrid – telework and on-site in Washington, DC
Employment Type: Part-time, temporary – 12 month contract (90 hours/month)
Hourly Rate: $90/hour (1099 position)

This contract aims to achieve a comprehensive transformation of processes, creating a foundation for enhanced operational effectiveness, improved customer satisfaction, and a culture of continuous innovation. The primary function will be around:
  • Defining and mapping current SCC internal and external processes based on level of priority and risk.
  • Identifying areas of improvement within SCC's current internal and external processes.
  • Developing and implementing new processes to address gaps and improve efficiency.
  • Integrating Lean Six Sigma principles to create a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Providing training and knowledge transfer to SCC staff for sustainable process management.
Job tasks will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop a Plan of Action to execute all necessary tasks
  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of policies, procedures and task to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas of improvement. 
  • Collaborate with SCC staff to design and implement process improvements using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support in the integration of Lean Six Sigma practices into SCC's business operations.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops to SCC staff on Lean Six Sigma concepts, tools, and techniques.
  • Regularly review and assess the implemented improvements, implementing adjusting as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Must possess a Master Black Belt Certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience in process improvement
  • US Citizenship
  • The selected candidate must be familiar with the following: 
    • Designing flowcharts of new and existing processes
    • Implementing innovative solutions to challenging problems.
    • Presenting complex concepts in a simplified manner.
    • Communicating and implementing changes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
    • Leading organizational improvement efforts through all stages of the DMAIC process
    • Implementing improvement actions and designing control plans
    • Measuring the effectiveness of implemented result 
    • Building collaborative working relationships with executives, customers, service managers, teams, and individuals.
