Web Developer Level I (Junior Web Developer): 8 years experience

  • Responsibilities:
    • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of websites and web applications.
    • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • Support front-end and back-end development tasks.
    • Implement basic website functionality and ensure responsiveness across devices.
    • Debug issues and fix bugs in collaboration with more experienced developers.
    • Optimize websites for performance, ensuring quick load times and minimal issues.
    • Collaborate with designers and other team members to convert visual designs into functional websites.
    • Stay up to date with the latest web development trends and technologies.
  • Skills:
    • Experience with User Development (UX) Design, REACT and Adobe Illustrator
    • Knowledge of analyst's workflow and use cases
    • Ability to transform user requests into clean, multi-faceted solutions that will support a broad range of users with verifying workflows
    • Provides mock-ups in Illustrator of new features, receives feedback from the analyst and developer community, and updates mock-ups accordingly
    • Keeps 508 compliance in mind when providing solutions
    • Designs overall look and feel for the ICON web-app
    • Familiarity with Knowledge Management and Curation (KMC) tool suite
    • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
    • Basic understanding of responsive design and mobile-first principles.
    • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
    • Some experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or similar.
    • Eagerness to learn and improve coding skills and web technologies.

Web Developer Level II (Mid-Level Web Developer):  12-14 years experience

  • Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain more complex websites and web applications.
    • Write and optimize code using advanced front-end (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end technologies (PHP, Python, Node.js, etc.).
    • Work with frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js for front-end development.
    • Integrate back-end services and APIs to create dynamic web applications.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to web performance, browser compatibility, and security.
    • Lead small projects and assist in the design and architecture of web solutions.
    • Optimize websites for SEO and ensure high performance and scalability.
    • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, back-end developers, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality products.
    • Mentor junior developers and contribute to improving team coding standards and best practices.
  • Skills:

    • Technical experience with:
      • REACT
      • MongoDB
      • Docker
      • Kubernetes
      • Elastic Search
      • Git
      • Kibana
      • Jira/Confluence
      • Agile/Spring Processes
    • Familiarity with server-side languages such as PHP, Python, Ruby, or Node.js.
    • Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and integrating web applications with APIs.
    • Strong understanding of web performance optimization, SEO best practices, and cross-browser compatibility.
    • Experience with version control systems like Git, and deployment pipelines.
    • Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and lead development on small projects.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
